Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have developed a nanoconfined material, La-Mg LDH/Ti₃C₂Tₓ, for efficient fluoride removal from water. This material leverages the nano confinement effect to prevent aggregation, increasing surface area and active sites for better adsorption. It remains effective even after multiple uses, maintaining over 80% fluoride removal efficiency. Computer simulations confirm that fluoride ions are effectively trapped at the material’s interface, demonstrating potential for practical water treatment applications.
