Artificial superconducting Kondo lattice in a van der Waals heterostructure

This article describes the creation of an artificial superconducting Kondo lattice within a van der Waals heterostructure by growing a monolayer of VSe2 on a 2H-NbSe2 substrate. This structure exhibits both a new charge density wave (CDW) phase and Kondo resonance, which results from the interaction of local magnetic moments with conduction electrons. The study reveals how superconductivity is induced in the Kondo lattice through proximity to the NbSe2 layer, providing new insights into the interaction between heavy fermion systems and superconductivity.
