D-Wave Quantum Inc. has completed the calibration and benchmarking of its new 4,400+ qubit Advantage2 processor, demonstrating significant performance improvements over its predecessor. Notably, the processor can solve 3D lattice problems common in materials science 25,000 times faster than the current Advantage system. It also delivers five times better solutions for high-precision applications and outperforms the existing system in 99% of satisfiability problem tests. Key enhancements include doubled qubit coherence time, a 40% increase in energy scale, and improved qubit connectivity from 15 to 20-way, enabling the processor to tackle more complex computational challenges across various fields, including optimization, artificial intelligence, and materials science.
