Researchers from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague have made significant advancements in the study of nickel(II) complexes, specifically with Tröger’s base (TB) and spiro-Tröger’s base (spiroTB) derivatives. They achieved high enantioseparation and molar ellipticity using high-performance liquid chromatography and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopy, supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. These findings enhance the understanding of chiral recognition and catalysis, offering potential for developing advanced materials and biochemical systems.
