Researchers use AI to accelerate the chase for safer, better batteries

Researchers at Tohoku University are using AI and a dynamic database to improve the development of solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) for safer and more efficient batteries. The Dynamic Database of Solid-State Electrolyte (DDSE) contains over 1000 materials and is updated weekly. AI helps predict novel materials with high ionic conductivity, addressing safety and performance issues in battery technology. This approach enhances the search for alternatives to flammable organic solvents, aiming to revolutionize battery design with higher energy density and faster charging capabilities.
