Team describes MXene-supported PtCo bimetallic catalyst for hydrogen evolution in acidic conditions

Researchers from Beijing University of Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have developed a PtCo/MXene catalyst that enhances the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in acidic conditions. By using cobalt to modify platinum’s electronic structure, the catalyst shows high efficiency and stability, achieving a low overpotential at significant current densities. This work offers a promising solution for low-cost, efficient hydrogen production and could improve renewable energy technologies. Read more on Phys org:
