This article provides an extensive review of research and development in the field of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) over the past two decades. It analyzes about 265,000 journal and patent publications, identifying key trends and emerging applications, such as CNTs’ role in energy storage, conversion technologies (batteries, fuel cells), sensors, and composites. The review highlights the growing use of CNTs in energy sectors, particularly in advanced materials like MXene and polymer composites. The analysis also shows the increasing commercial interest in CNT applications, particularly in semiconductors and energy sectors.
