SUMMARY
In the study of metallic materials, microstructural analysis is an important part of the overall process, and an understanding of microstructure is essential to accurately determining the properties of metals. The science of understanding these microstructures is thermodynamics, which allows us to explain why certain microstructures form and to control their formation. One of the most effective ways to make these predictions is through computer simulations.
Materials Square offers a phase equilibrium calculation service based on OpenCalphad to help researchers predict microstructural changes in various metallic material systems. Phase diagrams generated through the โCalphadโ service contain important information about microstructure and phase transformations and are widely used in metallic materials research.
